IT’S TIME FOR AN UPGRADE

Learning Differently. Learning Together.

Every student deserves a space and a community where they can learn and grow – in a way that fully meets their needs. Differences are not seen as dividers; they are the start of connections. Rundle Academy fosters a sense of belonging and acceptance for every student. This Academy project is backed by 30 years of helping students with learning disabilities thrive and master the same Alberta curriculum as their peers.

While the change to the campus will be remarkable and 175 more students will experience this transformational education, the heart of the Academy will remain the same: dedicated faculty, small class sizes, personalized learning plans, and unlocking students’ potential.

Buildings hold memories, but the heart and soul of Rundle Academy has long-transcended its physical space. It's time for the impeccable quality of education to be matched in a new space.

We're further ensuring every student has the support and skills to succeed at Rundle and beyond.

INVESTING IN FUTURES

Frequently
Asked Questions

Interested in investing in our future leaders? Let us help bring the details together.

  • The campaign will be completed in two distinct phases.

Phase 1: Education wing with 34 new classrooms, outdoor learning spaces, individual work pods, and breakout rooms.

    • Our goal is to have raised $12 million in support of phase 1 by the time the doors open.

    • By reaching our goal of $12 million, we are enabled to maintain the integrity of all parts of the Academy program.

    • Estimated opening is fall 2026 dependant on fundraising.

Phase 2: Co-curricular wing with the gymnasium, Great Hall, cafeteria, learning commons, counseling services, art and music rooms, and science labs.

    • The campaign goal for phase 2 is to be determined.

  • To reach our goal, we are looking for participation from as many people as possible. Right now, we need to engage with Rundle Academy stakeholders, including current and alumni families, alumni, grandparents, faculty and staff.

As the campaign progresses, we will then engage the entire Rundle community and wider Calgary community to partner with us in this journey to build the future of the Rundle Academy.

  • The physical expansion and larger grades 4-12 student population will allow us to hire even more expert teachers to maintain our small class sizes and personalized approach to learning at Rundle Academy. Although the Academy’s physical space needs updating, we will ensure the warm, caring, close-knit environment of the Academy does not change.

  • Yes. Tax receipts are issued for all eligible donations. When you make a gift online you receive your tax receipt automatically by email. Rundle Academy makes it easy for you to contribute to the Building Futures campaign, including options like donations of stocks and securities. Learn more here.

  • The Annual Fund and Building Futures campaign are interconnected. All gifts to Rundle Academy through the Annual Fund, whether one-time cash gifts, multi-year pledges, or gifts in kind, all gifts will support the Building Futures campaign.

  • Donate or pledge – Speak with us about how you can make a financial donation or pledge, including gifts of securities, that will positively impact our students.

Make a multi-year pledge – Many of our donors choose to make a multi-year pledge, maximizing their impact over time.

Become a corporate sponsor – Sponsorships from businesses can include financial support, in-kind donations, or matching gift programs.

United Way giving – You can double your impact by directing your donation to the Rundle Academy Building Futures campaign through your employer’s United Way campaign.

Tell a friend – Share the Building Futures campaign with your network to help increase our campaign's visibility and support.

Attend a roundtable session – Learn more about the campaign and how it will leave a lasting legacy for our students at one of our events.

Contact us at buildingfutures@rundle.ab.ca to learn more about any of these options.

  • There is tremendous flexibility in establishing a pledge. While most donors usually choose to pledge their gift over a span of three to five years, you have the option to customize the duration of the pledge, as well as the timing and amounts of the installments, according to your specific needs.

  • Yes, we have naming opportunities at various gift thresholds. Naming opportunities are a meaningful way to leave a legacy at Rundle Academy for your family and Rundle Academy graduates. If you are interested in naming opportunities, please contact Caroline Banadar, Manager of Major Gifts and Campaign, at buildingfutures@rundle.ab.ca.

  • It is true that some of our students in senior high years may not benefit directly from the new building once completed, however they have already benefited from exceptional faculty, support, and academics to succeed and help propel them to the next chapter in their lives.

We hope families will consider giving towards future generations of students who would otherwise may not be able to access the education if expansion isn’t successful. This is a way for you to honour the legacy of your child’s time at the Academy and while allowing new students to benefit from the same education in the Calgary community.

  • You can contact Rundle’s Advancement team at buildingfutures@rundle.ab.ca or 403-291-3866.
